Today, a quote from MLK:
"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true."
Martin Luther King, Jr., Strength To Love, 1963.

Cheer up!
Today was one of those days that started off on the wrong foot. I woke up at 8am, having to be at work at 8:30 (I didn't accidentally sleep in, that's the normal time I get up-I'm lazy). The bed was SO comfortable I had to just pull myself out-not easy. Then I sent a text to my bff:) and proceeded to get ready and prep lunch for the day.
At 8:20, I'm ready to go-got everything, except....my cell phone. Where could it be? I searched all over the house, knowing that I had it this morning at one point. It was nowhere to be found. Officially 15 minutes late for work and with a walk ahead of me, I left angry.
I came home for lunch to find my phone in the pocket of my bathrobe. Awesome.
Cell phone in hand, the afternoon had to progress better-and it did. My bff told me about www.stumbleupon.com, which is a really fun website you should check out. It basically helps you scan websites quickly-it's a lot of fun. I was stumbling most of today.
But then she (my bff) found something that totally made my day. www.theoatmeal.com. Prepare to laugh out loud for real. It.Is.Awesome. Highly recommended for a bad day.
Here's to a day saved!

Scariest Fortune Ever
For New Years, I traveled back home to Montana to visit family and friends and party it up. It was really nice to be able to go, but coming back home to an empty house was really difficult for me. Boyfriend is out of town, and he will be back in about a week. Have you ever realized how difficult it is to wind down from a whirlwind trip and get back to a regular schedule?
On another note, I was thinking about things to write for the blog. Each week at work, I have to pick a quote for the staff meeting agenda (sometimes my coworkers help me out) and I thought I would do that here. I find quotes really inspirational and they help you to be more introspective.
On that note, I bring you to the first quote. I would normally have picked something that I looked for online that seemed perfect for the moment, but I couldn't get this fortune out of my head. While I was back home, my sister and I went out for Chinese food. I cracked open the fortune cookie excitedly, only to find this:
"Killing time murders opportunities."
That's one way to put it. Considering my whole trip was about killing time, and I planned on partying it up after dinner, that was awkward. It was like a creepy omen. I kept it (I keep all my fortunes) but I don't like it-seems so negative and threatening.
All in all, scariest fortune ever. Will I try again? Absolutely.

Happy New Year!
How was your New Year, are you recovering well? I'm currently on vacation in Montana, enjoying time with friends and family. I hope your New Years was lovely-mine was a blast.
So where are you with New Years Resolutions? Do you have any? I love New Years Resolutions, although I tend to forget about them by February. Here's my list for 2010 so far...
1. Develop Etsy website and start wholesaling items to brick and mortar shops. I have an entire other list of resolutions for Etsy, but this one can stick on my personal list. This way it'll remind me two times that I need to keep thinking AND implementing ideas.
2. Workout 2x a week. What? You're suprised that there's a diet/health item on my list? I know, not very original.
3. Post blogs regularly. Yeah, this has been my intention all along, but I need someone to hold me to it. Sometimes life happens and blogs do not. Other times, I'm watching hulu and eating Oreos. Sheer laziness.
4. Save money for Europe. My oldest sister and I have been wanting to plan a Eurotrip, but I'm holding us back with all my poorness. This year, that needs to change. I WILL GO TO EUROPE. I WILL TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES SOON.
5. Quit biting fingernails.I painted them orange this week, so that's helping. I can't promise I won't clip them though. I'm helpless with long nails. I need to be able to craft on a whim, and finger nails prevent this from happening easily-can't have that.
I'm sure there are other things that I've been thinking about that should be on my list, but I'm trying to keep the list manageable. It should be 5-7 items, and I'm sure I'll think of two more.
How about you?
